Suprise for an oldie |
| When I say 'oldie' I'm in my 30s and a definite sceptic of amusement parks. I was delighted to find that the park is centred around an old house with extraordiary gardens. I was cajoled into going and though I find the park irritating for many reasons (overpriced dreadful food, massively expensive entrance fee, far too much concrete, queues and vomit) as an amusement park goes, the gardens are a very good redeeming feature. If you HAVE to go, then this should at least cheer up those of us who find far more fun and excitement in natural beauty. |

Value for the kids |
| On the face of it Alton Towers looks a little expensive but really it's a pretty cheap day out for a family, manage to keep all three of the children happy (9-12). There is something for everyone and plenty of choice of food and drink, not always the healthiest but resonably priced as attractions like this go. The hotel packages can make a decent break too if you keep your eyes open for special offers, often off-peak half-terms are a good time to look. |

Brilliant |
| if you love roller coasters then this is the place to go, oblivion is brilliant, also loads to do if you are not to keep, will keep you all occupied all day long. Food is a bit pricey so worth taking a packed lunch with you |
